Reedley, CA — According to KSEE, the Fresno County Coroner’s Office has identified two men who tragically lost their lives in a suspected DUI collision just outside Reedley on June 29, 2024, as 25-year-old Angel Reyes of Dinuba and 36-year-old Andres Rivero Jr. of Reedley.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Englehart and Manning Avenues around 7 PM. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a Chevrolet Malibu with two occupants had failed to stop at the stop sign, leading to a collision with a Ford F-150 carrying three passengers.
The Chevrolet Malibu’s occupants, Reyes and Rivero Jr., sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. According to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, the men were traveling southbound on Englehart Avenue when the accident occurred.
The Ford F-150, which was traveling westbound on Manning Avenue, struck the Chevrolet after it entered the intersection without stopping. The three occupants of the Ford sustained minor injuries and are expected to recover.
CHP investigators suspect alcohol may have been a factor in the collision. They are actively working to confirm this suspicion and determine the exact circumstances that led to the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
Wrongful Death Claims
Establishing fault in a collision can depend on multiple factors. One crucial way a personal injury attorney can assist grieving families is by determining legal liability after the loss of a loved one in a traffic accident.
If another party is found to hold some responsibility for the death, the family may be eligible to file a Wrongful Death claim with the at-fault driver’s insurance provider. This claim can provide compensation to help cover hospital fees, burial costs, and the loss of support for the deceased’s dependents.
