Fresno County, CA – In the early hours of Wednesday, September 30, 2026, a collision with a parked vehicle on West Willamette Avenue resulted in a fatality, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 4:00 AM at 159 West Willamette Avenue.
Authorities said a vehicle struck a parked black Hyundai Sonata. A witness indicated that a friend had been driving the vehicle involved but did not know its description.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist with the investigation, including checking surveillance footage at a nearby gas station and searching the surrounding area for the second vehicle, though officers did not locate it at the time.
An evidence tow was requested for the vehicle involved, which was later transported to a tow yard. The incident was reclassified from a no-injury collision to a fatality.
