Alameda County, CA – In the early hours of Friday, September 4, 2026, a collision involving a big rig resulted in a fatality on the southbound Interstate 880 to westbound State Route 262 connector, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 4:17 AM.

A Hyundai Kona sustained major front-end damage in the crash. Caltrans and the Alameda County Coroner were notified.
