Stockton, CA – On the night of Monday, August 31, 2026, a fatal motorcycle crash occurred on French Camp Rd in San Joaquin County, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol, Stockton Police Department, and Stockton Fire Department responded around 11:29 PM to reports of a motorcycle collision along the French Camp Road on-ramp to northbound Interstate 5.
First responders located a rider down in the roadway under the freeway overpass, along with heavy debris including a vehicle engine block. Emergency medical personnel examined the rider, but the individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers closed all eastbound lanes of French Camp Road just west of I-5 to divert traffic onto the southbound freeway while crews conducted an investigation, cleared wreckage, and arranged for a roadway washdown beneath the bridge. Tow crews were dispatched to impound the motorcycle.
CHP has not released the identity of the victim, nor have officers confirmed whether speed, mechanical failure, or secondary vehicle involvement contributed to the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
