Ventura, CA – On the evening of Tuesday, August 25, 2026, a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 6:31 PM on southbound Highway 101, just north of West Main Street.
Authorities said a burgundy Honda was pulled over on the right-hand shoulder with its hood up when a pedestrian associated with the vehicle was struck by a black Ford F-250 pickup truck. As a result of the impact, the pedestrian sustained fatal injuries.
Ventura County Fire Department personnel and emergency medical responders dispatched to the scene, and the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office was notified after the victim was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Ford F-250 pulled over onto the right-hand shoulder following the crash. Emergency medical personnel and law enforcement secured the area while evidence tows cleared the involved vehicles.
CHP has not released whether speed or alcohol were factors in the crash, as those details remain under investigation.
