Thousand Oaks, CA – On the morning of Thursday, August 13, 2026, a single-vehicle collision resulted in a fatality on southbound US-101 near the Westlake Boulevard off-ramp, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 6:01 AM.
Authorities said a car that had been parked on the right shoulder of the off-ramp accelerated hard toward the left side, then spun and went back off the right shoulder, coming to rest in mulch approximately 15 feet off the roadway.
Debris was scattered across the lanes of the off-ramp. Ventura County Fire Department responded to the scene.
A tow was requested for the vehicle. No additional details regarding the identity of the deceased had been released at the time of reporting. The investigation remains ongoing.
