Woodland, CA – On the evening of Saturday, August 8, 2026, a collision between a motorcycle and a Toyota Camry resulted in a fatality, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 9:13 PM on southbound Interstate 5 near the County Road 102 north on-ramp.
Authorities said the motorcycle collided with a white sedan, with the rider found on the right shoulder and the sedan coming to rest in the center divide. Yolo Fire Department responded to the scene, blocking all lanes during the response. Significant traffic backup developed, with witnesses reporting 10 to 20 vehicles attempting to reverse up the North Main Street on-ramp to exit the closed freeway.
Two tows were requested, one for the motorcycle on the right shoulder and one for the Honda in the center divide, with towing companies given permission to use the center divide to reach the scene amid the traffic congestion. All lanes were reopened at approximately 10:20 PM, with Caltrans requested to sweep both shoulders afterward.
