Corcoran Accidents and Wrongful Death Claims
California law prohibits drivers from crossing into oncoming lanes of traffic and requires all motorists to maintain proper lane discipline at all times. When a head-on collision results in a fatality, investigators with California law enforcement examine the actions of both drivers to determine which party may have crossed into the opposing lane and whether that driver may bear liability for the resulting death.
Regardless of the findings, the family of the deceased may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim. A wrongful death claim can provide the family with compensation for funeral expenses, loss of financial support, loss of consortium, and other damages related to the fatal accident.
