Earlimart, CA – On the evening of Wednesday, August 5, 2026, a multi-vehicle collision resulted in a fatality on eastbound State Route 91 near Euclid Street, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 9:26 PM.
Authorities said a silver Hyundai sedan carrying three occupants overturned onto its roof, blocking the right three lanes. Three parties were trapped inside the vehicle, prompting fire department personnel to enter the freeway against traffic from Euclid Street to reach them.
A white big rig on the right shoulder cut into the lanes and continued eastbound before also becoming involved in the incident. Broken glass was scattered across all lanes following the collision, requiring a sweeper.
Caltrans was contacted for a hard closure extending from the off-ramp to the on-ramp near Euclid Street. Media arrived on scene during the investigation. An evidence tow was requested for the tractor-trailer combination, loaded at approximately 35,000 pounds with a 40-foot trailer. All lanes were reopened at approximately 3:32 AM.
