Ventura County, CA – On the morning of Saturday, July 18, 2026, a pedestrian collision resulted in a fatality at Vineyard Avenue and Central Avenue, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 7:48 AM at Vineyard Avenue and Central Avenue in El Rio.
Authorities said a gray Chevrolet Acadia was involved in the collision with a pedestrian. Ventura County Fire Department was notified and responded to the scene. The incident was initially classified as a major injury crash before being upgraded to a fatality later that morning.
