Fatal Crash on SR-36 near Oasis Springs Ranch Rd in Tehama County

Tehama County, CA – On the afternoon of Friday, June 12, 2026, a single-vehicle collision resulted in a fatality on State Route 36, according to CHP Fatal.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 3:58 PM on State Route 36 near Oasis Springs Ranch Road.

Authorities said the vehicle went off the roadway approximately 15 feet and became completely wrapped around a tree. CAL FIRE and fire department personnel responded to find the driver not breathing and without a pulse, with extrication efforts underway. 

The eastbound lane was blocked during the response. A helicopter was dispatched to the scene, with the roadway temporarily stopped to allow for landing.

The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office was notified and dispatched the coroner to the scene. Caltrans was notified and requested to be informed once the roadway reopened.

No additional details regarding the identity of the deceased had been released at the time of reporting. The investigation remains ongoing.
