Napa County, CA – On the evening of Wednesday, June 10, 2026, a single-vehicle collision resulted in a fatality after a vehicle went into a ravine, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 9:34 PM at 2000 Capell Valley Road.
Authorities said the vehicle left the roadway and went into a ravine. CAL FIRE responded and blocked both lanes while emergency personnel worked the scene. Initial efforts to locate the vehicle were hampered by the remote terrain, with the Napa County Sheriff’s Office and CAL FIRE searching the area near Sage Canyon before locating the crash site. An air operations helicopter was dispatched to assist and arrived on scene at approximately 10:52 PM.
The coroner was notified, and a tow was requested for the vehicle, which was transported to the tow yard following the conclusion of on-scene proceedings. The roadway was reopened at approximately 3:05 AM.
