Yuba County, CA – On the morning of Tuesday, May 19, 2026, a collision between a big rig and a sedan resulted in a fatality at Griffith Avenue and North Beale Road, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 11:08 AM at Griffith Avenue and North Beale Road in Linda.
Authorities said a big rig collided with a white sedan, sending the sedan off the roadway approximately 15 feet into bushes on the south corner of the intersection. The big rig came to rest blocking the roadway and leaked approximately 200 gallons of fluid into the eastbound lane, prompting a lane closure while the scene was addressed. The driver of the big rig made independent arrangements for the vehicle’s removal.

Yuba County Roads and the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office were notified and responded. The roadway was cleared at approximately 1:02 PM.
No additional details regarding the identity of the deceased had been released at the time of reporting. The investigation remains ongoing.
Wrongful Death Claim
Losing a loved one in a traffic accident is devastating, and the pain can be made worse by the financial strain that often follows. Medical bills, funeral costs, and the loss of income to support dependents of the deceased can leave families struggling. Filing a wrongful death claim against those responsible can provide compensation to help with these expenses.
