Monterey County, CA – In the early hours of Sunday, May 18, 2026, a single-vehicle motorcycle collision resulted in a fatality, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the incident was reported around 5:08 AM on County Road G17 near Private 2 Road.
Authorities said a reporting party had called in a pedestrian in the roadway at approximately 4:39 AM. That was later determined to be a motorcyclist who had been involved in a collision.
CAL FIRE responded and confirmed the rider was deceased upon their arrival. A tow was requested for the motorcycle following the conclusion of on-scene proceedings.
No additional details regarding the identity of the deceased or the circumstances surrounding the collision had been released at the time of reporting. The investigation remains ongoing.
