One Killed, Power Line Downed in Crash on Road 216 in Tonyville

Tonyville, CA – In the early hours of Sunday, May 11, 2026, a single-vehicle collision resulted in a fatality, according to CHP Fatal.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 2:23 AM at 24814 Road 216.

Authorities said a Honda sedan struck a tree at the location. Tulare County Fire Department and the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office were notified and responded to the scene. 

The collision also brought down a utility pole, with Edison lines falling onto a nearby residential property. Southern California Edison was notified and responded with an estimated arrival of 15 minutes, with a work order issued in connection with the downed lines.

A tow was requested for the vehicle following the conclusion of on-scene proceedings. No additional details regarding the identity of the deceased or the circumstances leading to the collision had been released at the time of reporting. 

The investigation remains ongoing.
