Santa Barbara County, CA – On the morning of Sunday, April 26, 2026, a single-vehicle collision resulted in a fatality on southbound US-101 near the Seacliff area, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 8:54 AM.
Authorities said a gray Tesla struck the center divide, with fire visible at the scene upon the arrival of responding officers. Fire department personnel were working to extricate the occupant from the vehicle at the time of the initial response.
Caltrans was notified and responded to set up a closure. A heavy-duty tow truck was requested for the vehicle following the conclusion of on-scene proceedings.
