Fatal Crash near SR-113, Gibson Rd Off-Ramp in Yolo County

Yolo County, CA – On the afternoon of Wednesday, April 1, 2026, a single-vehicle collision on southbound State Route 113 near the Gibson Road off-ramp resulted in a fatality, according to CHP Fatal.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 12:17 PM.

Authorities said a silver Ford Explorer departed the roadway and struck a tree, with the vehicle smoking upon the arrival of first responders. The driver was found unconscious inside the vehicle. Yolo Fire Department and AMR responded to the scene and worked to extricate the occupant from the vehicle.

The Yolo County Coroner was notified and responded with an estimated arrival of approximately 15 minutes. Caltrans was also contacted for informational purposes. A tow truck was requested for the vehicle, and no lanes were reported blocked during the response.

No additional details regarding the identity of the deceased had been released at the time of reporting. The investigation remains ongoing.
