Old Oregon Trail, Grande Vista Lane Crash Kills Driver in Shasta County

Shasta County, CA – In the early hours of Wednesday, April 1, 2026, a single-vehicle collision resulted in a fatality, according to CHP Fatal.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 12:39 AM at Old Oregon Trail and Grande Vista Lane.

Authorities said fire department and emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene, where extrication was required to remove the occupant from the vehicle. A dark Oldsmobile Integra with major front-end damage was identified as the involved vehicle and was towed from the scene. Two mailbox clusters at the location were knocked down as a result of the collision, and the United States Postal Service was notified with a reference number provided.

A hard closure was established at Union School Road and Old Oregon Trail while emergency personnel worked the scene. Additional units were requested to manage the road closure. The roadway was cleared at approximately 2:09 AM.

No additional details regarding the identity of the deceased had been released at the time of reporting. The investigation remains ongoing.
