Silverado Trail Multi-Vehicle Crash Kills 2, Injures Others in Napa County

Napa County, CA – On the afternoon of Saturday, March 28, 2026, a multi-vehicle collision resulted in at least two fatalities and left multiple others injured, according to CHP Fatal.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 11:57 AM at 5766 Silverado Trail.

Authorities said the collision involved a blue Toyota Prius, a black Dodge, and a third sedan, with all vehicles coming to rest on the right shoulder following the impact. Airbags deployed across multiple vehicles, and debris was scattered across the roadway. Three occupants of the black vehicle and four occupants of the blue Prius were reported injured. A black Buick was subsequently identified as an additional vehicle connected to the incident.

A medical helicopter landed at the scene and transported one party. A second party was later airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. Both airlifted individuals were transported from the scene at different times during the response.

All lanes of Silverado Trail were blocked following the collision, with northbound lanes closed at Oak Knoll and southbound traffic diverted to Yountville Cross Road. The Napa County Sheriff’s Office assisted with traffic management and coordinated with County Roads for the hard closure. Silverado Trail was fully reopened at approximately 5:48 PM following the completion of measurements and vehicle recovery.

No additional details regarding the identities of those involved had been released at the time of reporting. The investigation remains ongoing.

Wrongful Death Claims & Comparative Negligence

Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s comparative negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility.

Should someone else be found even partly responsible for the death, the family may be able to file a wrongful death claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance. This can provide compensation to help cover medical bills, funeral expenses, and the loss of income to support the family of the deceased.
