Amador County, CA – On the afternoon of Sunday, March 29, 2026, a collision between a motorcycle and a truck resulted in a fatality, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 1:18 PM on State Route 88 near Previtali Road, just east of Dalton.
Authorities said a motorcycle collided with a truck towing a horse trailer, with the motorcycle and rider both coming to rest off the roadway on the right shoulder. CPR was in progress upon the arrival of responding units, and the rider was airlifted from the scene for further medical treatment. A Harley-Davidson motorcycle was towed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck.
State Route 88 was closed in both directions for approximately one hour while emergency personnel attended to the scene, affecting traffic into Jackson Rancheria due to congestion backing up west of the collision. The roadway was reopened at approximately 2:57 PM. The Amador County Sheriff’s Office deployed a deputy to the hospital in connection with the incident.
