The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 7:51 AM at Byrnes Road and Hawkins Road.
Authorities said one party was pinned inside a vehicle at the intersection at the time of the initial report. The individual was subsequently confirmed to be conscious and breathing while still trapped. Firefighters and emergency personnel worked to extricate the occupant from the wreckage.
The Solano County Sheriff’s Department was contacted to respond in its capacity as coroner, confirming that at least one person died as a result of the crash. One surviving party was transported to Kaiser Vacaville with major injuries. The identity of the deceased had not been confirmed at the time of reporting, though authorities believed the individual to be the registered owner of one of the vehicles involved.
All directions of travel at the intersection of Hawkins and Byrnes Roads were blocked while emergency crews worked the scene. Northbound Byrnes Road required particular attention, and the Solano County Department of Roads was notified. Two heavy wrecker evidence tow trucks were requested from Vacaville Tow to remove the vehicles involved.
The roadway was fully reopened in all directions at approximately 10:56 AM. Authorities followed both vehicles to the tow yard as part of the ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision.
Wrongful Death Claims
Losing a loved one in a traffic accident is devastating, and the pain can be made worse by the financial strain that often follows. Medical bills, funeral costs, and the loss of income to support dependents of the deceased can leave families struggling. Filing a Wrongful Death claim against those responsible can provide compensation to help with these expenses.
