Sacramento, CA – On the evening of Thursday, February 26, 2026, a vehicle versus pedestrian collision resulted in fatal injuries to an unidentified individual, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 7:23 PM near Stockton Boulevard and Massie Court.
Initial reports indicated a pedestrian was lying in the roadway in the northbound lanes. Authorities later confirmed the crash involved a blue Lexus SUV and a pedestrian.
Emergency personnel from the Sacramento Fire Department responded to the scene and began lifesaving efforts. Despite those measures, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at 7:33 PM. The coroner was notified and responded as part of standard fatal collision procedure.
Officers secured the area and temporarily blocked northbound lanes to allow emergency crews to work safely and to preserve evidence.
