Fatal SR-14, Redrock Randsburg Rd Crash in Kern County

Kern County, CA – On the morning of Friday, February 20, 2026, a single-vehicle traffic collision resulted in fatal injuries, according to CHP Fatal.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 7:31 AM near State Route 14 and Redrock Randsburg Road.

Initial reports indicated that a party was trapped inside the vehicle following the crash. Debris was scattered across the roadway, and at least one lane was shut down to allow emergency crews to safely respond.

Authorities said the vehicle came to rest off the southbound side of the highway and off the roadway. Kern County Fire Department personnel were dispatched to assist with extrication and medical aid.

A flatbed tow truck was requested, and traffic control measures were implemented, including the closure of the number two lane. The vehicle was later removed from the scene, and all lanes were reopened.

The collision was initially classified as involving major injuries before being updated to a fatality. The incident was ultimately documented as a single-vehicle fatal crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
