Fatal Crash Involving Tesla near SR-126, Pyle Rd in Fillmore

Fillmore, CA – On the morning of Monday, February 16, 2026, a two-vehicle traffic collision involving a white work truck and a black Tesla resulted in one fatality, according to CHP Fatal.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 9:03 AM near State Route 126 and Pyle Road.

Initial dispatch logs classified the incident as a single-vehicle traffic collision. However, within minutes, responding units clarified that the crash involved a white work truck and a black Tesla. Authorities later updated the call to reflect a fatal traffic collision as emergency personnel were en route.

Debris was reported across multiple lanes following the impact. The Ventura County Fire Department requested a temporary closure near Atmore to allow for a medical helicopter response. A heavy wrecker was also requested to extricate at least one party from a vehicle.

Tow services were contacted for vehicle removal, including an evidence tow for the Tesla at the direction of investigators. The work truck was not designated as evidence. The coroner was notified and responded to the scene as part of standard fatal collision protocol.

State Route 126 was closed for several hours during the investigation and recovery process. Eastbound lanes reopened at approximately 1:09 PM, while westbound lanes remained closed until later in the afternoon. All lanes were fully reopened by approximately 3:10 PM.

The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
