Yolo County, CA – On the evening of Saturday, February 7, 2026, a pedestrian lost their life after being struck by a vehicle, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 8:46 PM near the intersection of County Road 99 West and County Road 12.
Initial reports from the scene, logged at 8:46 PM, indicated that a black Ford pick-up truck was involved in a collision with a pedestrian. At the time of the first report, the status of the injured pedestrian was unknown, and the pick-up truck was positioned on the right-hand shoulder of the roadway.
In response to the severity of the incident, the CHP initiated a traffic break on Northbound I-5 to manage traffic flow as additional units were dispatched to the collision site on CR99W. Following the crash, a Dodge Ram 1500 was requested to be towed from the location, reportedly leaking transmission fluid.
Due to the fatal nature of the incident, a representative from the Coroner’s office was requested to respond to the scene at 10:35 PM. Officials confirmed that media calls regarding the collision were made later that evening.
Additional support from CHP Yolo County was requested in the early hours of the following morning. Authorities continued to process the scene, with the incident log noting its closure at 2:33 AM.
No further information regarding the identity of the victim has been released. This is an ongoing investigation.
