California City, CA – On the evening of Tuesday, February 3, 2026, a single-vehicle crash resulted in fatal injuries to an unidentified woman and prompted emergency response for multiple children involved, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the collision took place around 9:48 PM near the Randsburg Cutoff and California City Boulevard off-ramp, where one vehicle overturned and came to rest off the roadway.
Dispatch information indicated the woman was pinned beneath the vehicle, while a child and an infant were also inside at the time of the crash. A reporting party was able to remove one child from the vehicle prior to the arrival of emergency responders. Authorities initially indicated it was unclear whether the children sustained injuries.
The Kern County Coroner was requested to the scene, and the incident was later classified as a single-vehicle fatal collision.
Single-Vehicle Collisions
In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages through a Wrongful Death Claim.
