Sacramento County, CA – On the evening of Thursday, November 27, 2025, a head-on collision resulted in one fatality and injury to an elderly male driver, according to the CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred around 6:16 PM near the bridge on North Walnut Grove Road.
A white Ford Mustang and a black GMC Denali SUV were said to have collided head-on, blocking both lanes and leaving the roadway impassable for an extended period. A witness stopped to help the Mustang’s driver, an elderly man who was reported injured and in need of assistance as emergency crews were en route.
Fire personnel and AMR responders were requested shortly after the collision, with multiple units dispatched. Tow trucks were later called for both vehicles, as each sustained significant damage and was not operational. The crash site required coordinated access, and officials noted challenges related to the bridge location and traffic flow.
By 8:10 PM, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office was notified to request a coroner response. One westbound lane reopened later in the evening to allow controlled one-way traffic while crews continued clearing the scene.
Authorities have not released additional details about the deceased. The investigation is still ongoing.
Wrongful Death Claims
Even if a fatal accident doesn’t lead to criminal charges, families who lose a loved one can still file a Wrongful Death claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance. This can provide support to help cover medical bills, funeral expenses, and the loss of income.
