Sacramento, CA – On the morning of Monday, October 27, 2025, a fatal single-vehicle crash occurred near the intersection of San Juan Road and Garden Highway, according to CHP Fatal.
The crash was reported around 7:45 AM after officers received reports of a vehicle that had gone off the roadway. When emergency crews arrived, they found a blue 2008 Ford Focus that had left the road and come to rest near the intersection.
Authorities confirmed that the crash resulted in one fatality. The driver, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced deceased at the scene after attempts to provide aid were unsuccessful.
Traffic in the area was temporarily slowed as investigators documented the scene and arranged for the vehicle’s removal.
The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate what may have caused the collision, including whether speed, fatigue, or road conditions contributed to the fatal incident.
Wrongful Death Claims & Comparative Negligence
Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility.
Should someone else be found even partly responsible for the death, the family may be able to file a Wrongful Death claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance. This can provide compensation to help cover medical bills, funeral expenses, and the loss of income to support the family of the deceased.
