Napa, CA – In the early hours of Thursday, September 25, 2025, a multi-vehicle collision involving a big rig, a dump truck, and a van left at least one person critically injured, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 7:34 AM near the intersection of State Route 121 and Burndale Road.
Authorities said the vehicles involved included a big rig hauling double trailers loaded with sand, a white dump truck, and a white and blue van. All vehicles came to rest off the roadway on the right-hand embankment.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and worked to secure the scene, assessing injuries and coordinating with towing services to remove the heavy vehicles. The roadway remained closed for several hours as crews cleared the scene and ensured safety for investigators.
CHP issued a SigAlert and rerouted traffic from nearby roads, including Fremont Drive and Ramal Road, while multiple tow trucks were brought in, including flatbeds for the van and the commercial gravel truck.
Authorities did not immediately release the identities of those involved or provide additional details on the cause of the crash. Investigators continue to examine the scene to determine contributing factors and the extent of injuries sustained.
Personal Injury Claims & Comparative Negligence
Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. Should evidence reveal that another party contributed to the injuries, victims may be eligible to file a Personal Injury Claim with the responsible party’s insurance, which can provide compensation for medical bills and lost wages during recovery.
