Granite Bay, CA – On the afternoon of Sunday, September 21, 2025, a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle resulted in the death of the motorcyclist, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 4:09 PM at the intersection of Auburn Folsom Road and Joe Rodgers Road.
Investigators said a motorcycle collided with a black BMW in the northbound lanes. The impact caused the motorcyclist to sustain critical injuries. Emergency responders arrived quickly and confirmed that the rider had died at the scene.
Authorities reported debris from the crash scattered across the roadway, prompting crews to block all lanes temporarily while clearing the site. Multiple towing services were called to remove both the BMW and the motorcycle from the scene.
Officials reopened Auburn Folsom Road after several hours once emergency crews finished clearing the vehicles and evidence.
The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash. Investigators are reviewing how the motorcycle and BMW entered the same lane and what factors led to the fatal collision.
Wrongful Death Claims & Comparative Negligence
Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. Should someone else be found even partly responsible for the death, the family may be able to file a Wrongful Death claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance. This can provide compensation to help cover medical bills, funeral expenses, and the loss of income to support the family of the deceased.
