Dinuba, CA – On the morning of Tuesday, August 26, 2025, a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Avenue 416 and Road 48 resulted in at least one fatality, according to CHP Fatal.
The crash involved two sedans and a pickup truck and required multiple emergency response teams to secure the scene, assist victims, and manage traffic delays.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that at 7:42 AM, officers responded to a collision involving a dark gray four-door sedan and a gray four-door sedan. When they arrived, one occupant remained trapped inside a vehicle. Emergency responders immediately began assessing injuries and providing medical aid while additional units were dispatched to manage the growing scene. During their response, authorities identified a related second collision at the same intersection. This involved a Chevrolet 3500 pickup truck loaded with tools attempting to avoid the original crash, which struck a gray Honda Civic.
Multiple tow trucks arrived to remove the damaged vehicles from the roadway. CHP reported that at least four separate tow operations were necessary due to the extensive damage and to clear lanes for traffic. The eastbound lanes at the intersection were completely blocked for several hours while responders assisted victims, documented the crash scene, and moved vehicles to secure locations.
By mid-morning, CHP confirmed that the crash had resulted in one fatality. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of family members. Authorities continue to investigate both the initial collision and the secondary crash, examining factors including vehicle speed, driver actions, and road conditions.
CHP urges anyone who witnessed the collisions or has information related to the incidents to contact the Dinuba office to assist investigators in determining the full circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
Wrongful Death Claims & Comparative Negligence
Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. Should someone else be found even partly responsible for the death, the family may be able to file a Wrongful Death claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance. This can provide compensation to help cover medical bills, funeral expenses, and the loss of income to support the family of the deceased.
