Bridgeport, CA – On the morning of Tuesday, August 12, 2025, a vehicle collision on U.S. Route 395 near Rattlesnake resulted in fatal injuries, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place shortly after 9:00 AM.
Authorities requested a flatbed tow truck to remove the involved vehicle. Air operations units were called to take aerial photographs of the scene and to document any ejected items.
Caltrans was also notified to assist with traffic control and roadway safety during the investigation. Officers secured the crash site and later transported the vehicle as evidence.
The identity of the person killed has not been released, and CHP has not provided information on whether additional people were injured.
The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
