Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on SR-87, Alma Ave in San Jose

San Jose, CA – In the early hours of Saturday, July 12, 2025, a motorcyclist was killed in a collision on State Route 87 southbound near the Alma Avenue off-ramp, according to CHP Fatal.

The incident occurred around 2:14 AM and involved a motorcycle and a blue Ford Bronco. Initial reports indicated the rider was down in the center divide. Emergency medical services were called to the scene, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

CHP officers initiated a traffic break south of Interstate 280 to manage traffic while emergency personnel responded. 

The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office responded and took custody of the deceased.

The identity of the motorcyclist has not yet been released pending family notification. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
