Colfax, CA – On the morning of Sunday, July 13, 2025, a motorcyclist was killed in a single-vehicle crash along State Route 174 near White Oak Drive, according to CHP Fatal.
The incident was reported around 9:55 AM when a passerby spotted the motorcycle off the roadway near a steep embankment. Emergency responders from CAL FIRE and the Placer County Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene shortly after. Authorities confirmed the rider had died at the scene.
The motorcycle was located approximately 25 feet down the embankment, prompting a temporary closure of southbound traffic while crews worked to recover the vehicle. All lanes were reopened by 11:30 AM.
A full investigation, including a toxicology report, is underway. The rider’s identity has not yet been released. The deceased was transported to the Placer County Morgue.
