Modesto Children Among Injured at South Carpenter, West Taylor Rd

Modesto, CA – On the evening of Friday, July 11, 2025, a two-vehicle collision involving multiple children resulted in serious injuries and at least one fatality, according to CHP Fatal.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident occurred around 5:43 PM at the intersection of South Carpenter Road and West Taylor Road.

A black Chevrolet Tahoe and a white four-door sedan collided in the southbound lanes of South Carpenter Road. Emergency responders were dispatched shortly after the crash and arrived to find a juvenile lying face down on the shoulder and one individual pinned inside a vehicle. Fire personnel worked to extricate the trapped occupant while paramedics assessed multiple injured parties at the scene.

According to authorities, three children were involved in the crash. The identities of those injured or deceased have not yet been released pending family notification.

Both vehicles sustained major front-end damage and required towing from the scene. Authorities shut down both directions of Carpenter Road for several hours while emergency crews worked and investigators examined the area.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. It is not yet known whether impairment, distraction, or speed played a role in the crash.
