Fatal, Fiery SR-145, Ave 11 Crash in Madera County

Madera County, CA In the early morning hours of Saturday, July 12, 2025, a fiery head-on collision on State Route 145 near Avenue 11 resulted in at least one fatality, according to CHP Fatal.

The crash was reported around 3:19 AM and involved a white Subaru Crosstrek and a red Jeep Cherokee. 

Authorities say the vehicles collided head-on, causing both to catch fire. Emergency crews from CAL FIRE and EMS were dispatched immediately, along with deputies from the Madera County Sheriff’s Department.

Shortly after the initial crash, reports indicated the red Jeep may have struck additional vehicles. All lanes were shut down, and CHP later reclassified the incident from a major injury crash to a fatal collision.

The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, including whether impairment, distraction, or speed were contributing factors.
