Stockton, CA – On the morning of Thursday, July 4, 2025, a collision between a big rig and a motorcycle resulted in fatal injuries, according to the CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the crash took place around 3:03 AM on the southbound lanes of State Route 99 at the Arch Road off-ramp.
Initial dispatch information indicated that a motorcycle rider was down in the center divide following the collision with a big rig. Emergency responders were called to assist with life-threatening injuries. When authorities arrived, they found the motorcycle pinned underneath the larger vehicle.
The rider, whose identity has not been released pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The motorcycle required specialized recovery from beneath the box truck, and two separate towing companies were dispatched to handle vehicle removal.
Caltrans was notified to assist with managing the roadway and ensuring safe conditions following the incident.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Authorities have not confirmed whether speed, impairment, or other contributing factors were involved.
