Fatal Fiery Crash at SR-108, Chicken Ranch Rd in Tuolumne County

Jamestown, CA – On the late afternoon of Monday, June 30, 2025, a two-vehicle collision resulted in at least one fatality, according to CHP Fatal.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 5:27 PM at the intersection of State Route 108 and Chicken Ranch Road in Tuolumne County.

Authorities stated that the collision involved at least one truck, and one of the vehicles involved caught fire following the impact. Emergency responders from EMS and the fire department arrived on scene shortly after the crash, where at least one party was reportedly trapped and unable to exit their vehicle. 

Both eastbound and westbound lanes of State Route 108 were blocked while crews worked to control the fire and attend to those involved. Traffic was severely impacted in the area until both lanes were reopened around 7:35 PM. 

The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin by the Tuolumne County Coroner’s Office.

The California Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the cause of the collision and whether any contributing factors, such as mechanical failure or driver error, played a role in the crash.
