Cloverdale, CA – On the night of Sunday, June 15, 2025, a single-vehicle collision on State Route 128 near North Cloverdale Boulevard resulted in one fatality, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident took place around 10:30 PM when a silver 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser traveling along SR-128 struck a tree and came to rest in the middle of the roadway.
The Cloverdale Fire Department arrived shortly afterward and confirmed the vehicle was blocking both eastbound and westbound lanes. CHP coordinated with the Department of Transportation to manage traffic and began a formal investigation.
By 11:38 PM, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office was contacted to dispatch the coroner to the scene. The identity of the driver has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities have not yet released information on the cause of the collision. It remains under investigation, and officials are working to determine whether speed, fatigue, or other factors contributed to the crash.
