Inyo County, CA – On the early morning of Friday, June 13, 2025, a single-vehicle rollover crash near Stovepipe Wells resulted in fatal injuries to one person, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 5:31 AM in Death Valley on State Route 190.
Emergency responders arrived to find a Mitsubishi Montero SUV on its left side off the roadway, with one individual trapped inside. Fire and medical personnel were dispatched immediately, and extrication was required to access the victim. Despite rescue efforts, the individual succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of family.
The coroner was called to the location shortly after 7:30 AM to begin a formal investigation. Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the cause of the crash. The incident remains under active investigation.
