Fremont, CA – On the morning of Sunday, June 8, 2025, a single-vehicle crash resulted in a fatality on the southbound Interstate 880 off-ramp at Decoto Road, according to CHP Fatal.
CHP officials report that the crash occurred around 6:30 AM when a black Honda Civic veered off the roadway and struck a tree. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on its side along the right-hand shoulder of the off-ramp.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, and officials confirmed that the collision resulted in at least one fatality. The Alameda County Coroner’s Office was notified and responded shortly before 7:00 AM.
The crash temporarily blocked the number four lane and led to significant traffic delays in the area. Tow services were requested, and all lanes were reported fully reopened by 10:00 AM.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Officers have not yet indicated whether drugs, alcohol, or speed were factors.
