Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash at SR-1, Meyers Grade Rd in Jenner, Sonoma County

Jenner, CA – On the morning of Sunday, May 18, 2025, a single-vehicle collision resulted in at least one fatality after a vehicle went off the roadway and down an embankment, according to CHP Fatal.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident occurred around 8:31 AM near the intersection of State Route 1 and Meyers Grade Road in northern Sonoma County.

Responding officers and rescue personnel located a blue Honda Fit that had left the southbound lane of SR-1 and traveled down a steep embankment. The car came to rest with its roof facing the roadway, and part of the vehicle lodged into a tree.

Efforts were made to coordinate a rescue response, including notifications to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department, CAL FIRE units, and Air Operations (AIR OPS).

By 9:41 AM, CHP requested the Sonoma County Coroner to respond to the scene, indicating that at least one fatality had occurred. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation. No other vehicles were reported to be involved.
