Inyo County, CA – On the evening of Monday, March 31, 2025, a fatal traffic collision involving a big rig occurred on US-395 near Walker Creek Road in Olancha, according to CHP Fatal.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the incident took place around 6:00 PM, blocking both lanes of southbound traffic.

At the time of this report, the investigation into the cause of the crash was ongoing, and no further details about the deceased’s identity had been released.

In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages.
