Bakersfield, CA — A woman killed in a single-vehicle collision early Saturday morning, January 18, 2025, has been identified by the Kern County Coroner’s Office as 24-year-old Raquel Naomi Solorio of Bakersfield, according to KGET.
The accident occurred at approximately 3:46 AM near the intersection of Old River Road and White Lane.
Officers from the Bakersfield Police Department responded to reports of a crash and discovered a black Ford SUV that had veered off the roadway and collided with a tree in the median.
Solorio, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
Preliminary investigations suggest the SUV was traveling southbound on Old River Road before the driver lost control. Authorities believe speed may have been a factor in the crash, but the exact cause remains under investigation.
Single-Vehicle Collisions and Comparative Negligence
In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility.
California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages. A personal injury attorney can play a critical role in sorting through these details to help victims and their families get the compensation they deserve.
