Reedley, CA – A 40-year-old driver from Reedley appears to have lost their life after colliding with two parked cars on the morning of Tuesday, December 10, 2024, according to ABC30.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident occurred around 6:30 AM at the intersection of Huntsman and Hope Avenues.
Emergency responders arriving on the scene found the driver unresponsive in one of the three cars damaged in the crash. They attempted to perform life-saving efforts on the driver but he was declared dead at the scene. The driver has not yet been identified.
Investigations indicate that the driver was travelling westbound on Huntsman Avenue before the collision. It has yet to be determined whether the driver passed away as a result of injuries sustained in the crash or whether they experienced an unrelated medical emergency that caused them to crash.
Investigators have not yet determined if driver intoxication may have played a role in this accident.
Single-Vehicle Collisions and Comparative Negligence
In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility.
California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages. A personal injury attorney can play a critical role in sorting through these details to help victims and their families get the compensation they deserve.
