Bakersfield, CA – As of Wednesday, November 27, 2024, the Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified the pedestrian killed on 7th Standard Road in September as 19-year-old Fabian Ignacio Castaneda of Bakersfield, according to KBAK.
The accident occurred around 12:05 AM on September 28, 2024, on 7th Standard Road, east of Heath Road. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, Castaneda was pushing his broken-down vehicle when he was struck from behind by an eastbound car.
Emergency responders pronounced Castaneda dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed that the driver of the second vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated fully with investigators. Drugs or alcohol are not believed to have played a role in the collision.
