Stanislaus County, CA — On Monday afternoon, November 22, 2024, a 40-year-old man was killed and three others were injured when a Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office pursuit ended in a collision, according to The Modesto Bee.
The accident occurred around 3:30 PM just south of the Seventh Street Bridge near Crows Landing Road.
Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Deputies had attempted to stop a suspect wanted for assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence, and witness intimidation, when the man fled, leading deputies on a chase that ended in a collision with another vehicle at the intersection.
Emergency responders found the suspect unresponsive at the scene. Deputies performed life-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead. His identity has not been released, pending notification of his family.
The other vehicle, occupied by a man, a woman, and a young boy, sustained significant damage. All three occupants were hospitalized, with two being transported by ground ambulance, while one was airlifted.
The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an internal review of the pursuit, while the California Highway Patrol (CHP) investigates the circumstances of the collision.
Personal Injury Claims
When the actions of reckless drivers cause others to be injured, the cost of recovery should not fall on their victims. Filing a Personal Injury claim with the at-fault party’s insurance can provide compensation for medical bills and lost wages during recovery.
However, insurance companies often try to deny or minimize claims. That’s why having a knowledgeable personal injury attorney on your side is crucial to securing proper compensation for your injuries.
