Tehachapi, CA — Two people lost their lives in a multi-vehicle crash Wednesday morning, November 20, 2024, southeast of Tehachapi, according to KBAK.
The accident occurred at approximately 7:25 AM on Tehachapi Willow Springs Road, just north of Oak Creek Road.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) Mojave Area officers responded to find four vehicles involved in the devastating pileup. Investigations indicated that a 27-year-old man from Delano was driving a Ford F-550 southbound on Tehachapi Willow Springs Road.
Traveling northbound at the same time were a 51-year-old Lancaster man in a GMC 3500 pickup truck, an unidentified 38-year-old man in a Honda CRV with a passenger, and a 59-year-old Palmdale man in a Chevrolet 2500 pickup.
According to the preliminary investigation, the Ford F-550 struck the GMC 3500 head-on. The collision triggered a chain reaction, involving the Honda CRV and then the Chevrolet 2500.
The Honda CRV driver and his passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities will be released by the Kern County Coroner’s Office once next of kin are notified.
The CHP is continuing to investigate the cause of the collision.
