Pixley, CA — A single-vehicle accident just south of Pixley claimed the life of a 27-year-old Bakersfield man early Saturday morning, November 9, 2024, according to KBAK.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) Visalia reports that the crash occurred around 5:45 AM, as the man was traveling northbound on Highway 99 near Avenue 96.
According to CHP’s preliminary report, the driver was operating a 2024 Honda SUV at an unknown speed when he drifted out of the traffic lanes and onto the dirt shoulder. The vehicle continued off-road and collided with a large eucalyptus tree along the shoulder. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
Investigators currently believe neither alcohol nor drugs were involved in the crash, though the exact cause is still under examination. CHP officers at the Visalia office will continue to gather information to determine what may have caused the vehicle to veer off course.
Liability in Single-Vehicle Collisions
In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. A personal injury attorney plays a critical role in sorting through these details to help victims and their families get the compensation they deserve.
Once liability is determined, the attorney can negotiate with insurance companies, who often try to reduce payouts. That means having legal representation can be vital to ensure victims receive fair compensation for their loss.
