Yuba City, CA – According to Fox40, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Yuba-Sutter is appealing to the community for assistance in locating the driver involved in a hit-and-run that claimed the life of a young pedestrian near ShoEi Foods USA, Inc., on Sunday, September 29, 2024.
Around 8:20 PM, a 22-year-old man was walking along Feather River Boulevard, south of Algodon Road, when he was struck by a vehicle.
Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the victim succumbed to his injuries. According to CHP officers, the driver fled the scene, and no physical evidence has been found to help identify the vehicle.
Feather River Boulevard is a rural stretch of road near agricultural fields and residential areas. The intersection of Algodon Road and Feather River Boulevard is the location of ShoEi Foods USA, Inc., which stands on the bank of the Feather River.
Authorities have been conducting follow-up investigations, but so far, they have not developed any leads. Officers are urging anyone who may have been in the area at the time or has information that could assist in identifying the driver to come forward.
